Distant connections
When I started this company, brand, or whatever you want to call it, I was in the far away Barcelona with a store, and a narrow vision on what was going to happen with those mere less than 200 hats I made on the first collection.
I picked up on a rental car in Los Angeles those less than 200 colorful hats , shipped them from a side office from my friend Nima at digitalgravel.com and headed back to Barcelona to keep on doing my thing. It was basically a gateaway to create things I liked. I never really thought one day, I would be getting emails from people like Zach aka Doze One, some 18 years old hip-hop guy from a city I have never been at (Providence, Rhode Island) doing video clips and promoting the brand of somebody he doesn’t know (Thats me).
Have you seen the “Nautical” hat from Collection 3 in there?
With that in mind, all I can say is thanks to all these anonymous individuals who connect with the brand to levels I had never imagined would get to, creating things, making music, shooting videoclips with friends, trying to reach new heights, being creative and creating this amazing group of individuals called “SKULLS Squadron”.
Music is such an important part of my life feels great having examples like Zach and many others who feel this the way they do.
Zach even put out a mixtape yesterday that you can listen here:
